DREAM THEATER's PORTNOY Performs With ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA In NYC; Video Available

Fan-filmed video footage of DREAM THEATER's Mike Portnoy taking over lead vocals and sitting behind the kit for two FRANK ZAPPA songs — "Bobby Brown Goes Down" and "Willie the Pimp" — during ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA's August 9, 2009 concert at the Beacon Theater in New York City can be viewed below (courtesy of Bry a.k.a. Fresh on the heels of his Grammy win, ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA's Dweezil Zappa is currently on the road with DREAM THEATER as part of the Progressive Nation 2009 tour.

"It's no secret that I started ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA with the intention to diversify and expand the audience for my father's music," Dweezil said. "I figured I'd probably have to do it one concert at a time. Playing with DREAM THEATER on the Progressive Nation tour is a great way to accomplish that goal.
